Once these strikes began, the union members in both SAG/AFTRA and the WGA agreed to no longer work, promote previous works, give interviews, attend premieres etc. because until negotiations are discussed and an amicable outcome is reached. Provided that, networks, streaming services and movie studios still have films and television shows to promote, so they are looking to alternative talent to promote these productions.

Alternative talent often equals Influencers and Content Creators, and we strongly suggest you do not engage in these kinds of promotions. Not only do we believe it is important to support the striking unions in solidarity, more importantly, anyone choosing to “cross the line” and promote movie and television productions by engaging in paid social media campaigns or attending movie premieres to advertise them, etc. could be considered “scabs”. 

So, any future attempt you make at joining any entertainment union could be thwarted by the fact that you chose to promote these productions during the strike.

Of course, it is up to you what you choose to work on and promote, but in our professional opinion, it’s just not worth it in this instance.
